I leafed through Riverford's Everyday Cookbook yesterday looking for a recipe for chocolate and beetroot cake only to find it was a brownie recipe. But the
Apple & Almond Pudding Cake looked the perfect thing to take to my mother-in-laws for an impromptu family gathering and possibly celebrate Sprout's birthday a day early. Her chocolate & beetroot cake can wait until tomorrow.
At the time of writing it is uneaten but looks and smells delicious. Although possibly I should have sprinkled it with a little extra brown sugar and cinnamon before baking?
Sunday Evening Update
Apple cake wolfed down by all apart from one out of two fussy nieces. Birthday girl moaned that there wasn't enough for seconds.
