Three large parsnips, a handful of small carrots, ever multiplying jerusalem artichokes in the veg patch, a gathering of 7 to feed for lunch, and a cold snap lend themselves to soup in my book, and Hugh Fearnley Whittingstal's 5 Root Soup to be exact. Served up with the one Walnut Loaf that didn't sell at the Country Market last week.
I also tried cooking this with some Winter Savoury. This herb is supposed to counteract the wind producing jerusalem artichokes. It is the first time I've ever tried it and results of this are not in yet!
very yum and just what you need on a cold winter's day!
